One year ago.

It's been nearly a year since Cecil was born. I remember having many plans for how I would photograph him in those early days and months. With a new portrait lens, an understanding of light, and a little creativity, we went to work.

I learned a few things after that shoot. Mainly that babies don't always cooperate with what you have in mind. Also, you can, in fact, switch lenses mid shoot without exposing your film. If I knew that, I would have changed back to my 50mm lens. The iPhone photos my husband took came out more like my vision than what I was able to create using my fancy film camera. Still, in the end, the photos came out better than expected.
