My little sisters baby shower.

My little sister is going to be a mother! She lives on the other side of the country, and, of course, I flew over to help with the baby shower. My friend, who lives close to my sister, helped a ton! She prepared all the decorations in Peter Rabbit theme. Another friend made all the desert scones and helped prep food with me. And, last minute, I pulled out my camera to take some snaps.

I was exhausted, and unsure of the light situation. It was indoors with large glass windows, letting in a lot of light. I used Portra 400, rated it at 800 and pushed +1 in development. The film was developed and scanned at Richard Photo Lab.

This was my first time shooting an event with film. A few minor compositional errors, but other than that, every frame came out pretty good. There were a few exceptional shots as well. Overall, I was really happy with the outcome. I'm not a big fan of the warm tones of Kodak as much as the cool tones of Fuji, but I heard Portra was a super forgiving film in terms of light, and it was gifted to me by a friend of mine.

I was really happy to be able to capture this event for my sister and her boyfriend. I'm equally as happy that my son will have a cousin to play with, soon. <3
